Care Instructions
AFTER DELIVERY
Unpack the carpet immediately after delivery. Be sure to unpack the rug immediately after delivery to minimize any creases or pressure marks from shipping. The sooner you unpack, the sooner your new rug will settle nicely on the floor.
VACUUM CLEANING
Vacuum regularly, but don't overdo it. Vacuum on low power and use the flat nozzle or carpet setting. Only use flat vacuum nozzles or furniture attachments.
Vacuuming your carpet too often can wear out the knots and fibers faster.
STAINS - SPOT CLEANING
If stains appear on the carpet, treat them immediately.
- Blot spills immediately using a clean, dry cloth — do not rub, as this may damage fibers. For wet stains, absorb as much as possible with a paper towel – without adding water. If still necessary, dab lightly with a clean, uncolored cloth, colorless detergent (or soap) and lukewarm water.
- For most spills, blot with warm water only. Be careful not to use too much water. This can cause the carpet to shrink and lose its shape.
- For stubborn stains, use a mild detergent (colorless detergent (or soap) mixed with water. Always test in an inconspicuous area first.
- Never use harsh chemicals or bleach. Avoid bleach, harsh chemicals or alkaline household products – they can discolor and damage the wool.
- Never rub the stain, as this will make it more difficult to remove.
- For dry stains, we recommend scraping with a blunt object (e.g. a tablespoon or spatula) and then vacuuming the carpet. Be careful not to damage the carpet fibers.
DEEP CLEANING
- Professionally clean your rug once every 12–18 months, or as needed depending on foot traffic.
- Do not steam clean or soak the rug, as this may damage the tufting and backing.
GENERAL
- Light shedding is normal for new tufted rugs and will diminish with regular vacuuming and use.
- If a single fiber extends beyond the surface of the carpet, simply cut it off.
- We recommend that you rotate the carpet from time to time to achieve more even sun fading and wear.
